Hidden costs and renewals
- Inventory limits: third-party reviews report no backorder control on sales orders, no serial/lot tracking and no barcode scanning (Synder, 2026-02-18) - a hard stop for many distributors and manufacturers.
- Add-ons (payroll, payments) and extra entities or dimensions are priced on top; Intuit says its ProAdvisor discount does not apply to per-user charges, additional entities or dimensions, or add-ons added after contract signature (Intuit, 2026-09-23).

Yes: ask whether your accountant qualifies for ProAdvisor preferred pricing (up to 60% off list per Intuit) and get entity and dimension counts locked in the initial contract, since later additions are excluded from that discount.

Is IES cheaper than NetSuite?
On subscription, usually yes: a single-entity IES estimate is about $8,000 a year versus roughly $27,000+ for the smallest NetSuite deployment in our model. IES has much thinner inventory and manufacturing depth.
Does Intuit charge to migrate from QuickBooks Desktop to IES?
